Even though Eric had advanced her money towards getting an apartment, Allie still hadn't gone looking yet. Getting a place just seemed too permanent, like she was giving up on getting off the island.
Obviously that would have to change, especially before she went to work on Friday. But until that time, she'd spend an hour of her night fighting to cross the causeway and then the rest of the night exploring the island. If she was going to be stuck here, then she was going to know every alley through town and every path through the Preserve at least as well as she knew the Fringe sector she grew up in.
Early Monday morning, when Allie felt the familiar lethargy of the rising sun begin to sink into her bones, she'd gone to ground in a secluded corner of the mansion's property.
It was quiet and seemed deserted. What more could a sleeping vampire want?

"Problem?"
For the record, yes, the sword was still on her back.

A scent caught her attention, all earthy and wild. "You're like Jack." Allie asked, although honestly, the nose knows.

Date: 2012-10-16 01:18 am (UTC)Poor Jack was going to get an earful the next time Allie saw him. He unknowingly built her expectations about werewolves. Someone was going to have to give her a copy of Dusk to read so she could understand how it was supposed to be.
